ABOUT NALINI AND VEENA

Dr. Veena Bhat originates from Mangalore, Karnataka and was raised in San Jose California. After completing her studies in California and Dental School in Chicago, she established herself in the Alpharetta area and has been practicing dentistry in her own practice, North Fulton Smiles since 2009, in Alpharetta GA. Dr Veena and her family have been supporters of Vibha since 2009 and North Fulton Smiles has been a proud sponsor and participant of the Vibha Dream Mile since 2009. Dr. Veena is enjoying channeling her inner performer by participating in the Vibe event. Though not a trained dancer, there isn't a dance floor she hasn't enjoyed. She's happy to perform with her friend and fellow colleague and Kannadiga for a great cause and for an even greater organization! Dentist can dance - and we'll prove it !

Dr. Nalini Kataria -Born and raised in India, moved to United States to pursue further education here. Who knew the cupid was going to shoot the arrow and Nalini met the love of her life, Alok! After the wedding bells the couple moved to Boston for Nalini's Dental School and Nalini graduated from Boston University in 2008. Soon after graduation they moved back to Atlanta.

Nalini and Veena met for the first time at Veena's practice when Nalini was still a new grad, settling in and looking up to Veena in her practice as her role model. On and off they have crossed paths in the dental community and today they both own and operate their dental practice in Alpharetta / Roswell area.

So, all along since childhood Nalini believed she cannot dance and it just wasn't her thing. While in Dental School in India she had no choice but to perform on the stage for college fresher's day. "It was the scariest thing for me", she says! She managed to get through the Fresher's day and swore she was never going to put herself through anything like that ever again. But life has it's own plans! There were many more dancing moments in her life from College Annual Day performances to Sangeet Sandhya at her wedding. She dared herself every time! They say courage is doing the thing you fear the most! It will be another moment of courage for Nalini to get on the Vibha dance floor. Feeling empowered with Vidha!!
